Shirley Temple

in beverage, Food Friday, Food Trip Friday, mocktails

My first encounter with this drink was a few years ago[ or was that lots of years ago?] at the Club Panoly in Boracay. I didn’t even know that such a drink exists. Since I don’t really drink, this became a favorite.

I always wanted to try different kinds of mocktails, so this may be a start of a series of mocktail posts. What I like about mocktails is that you can drink them anytime of the day and you can serve them to kids. Also, if you are controlling your diet, you can substitute a lighter version of the soda. I used diet 7 Up for this.

Mocktails are mock cocktails.Flavorful and colorful drinks that do not contain alcohol. Perfect for non-drinkers or those who just doesn’t want to have alcohol for the night.

Ingredients:
Ice
Lemon-lime soda
Fresh orange juice
Grenadine syrup
Maraschino Cherries
Orange Slices for garnish

Directions:

  • Fill a tall or short glass with ice cubes.
  • Add a tbsp of grenadine syrup.
  • Pour half orange juice and half soda until glass is almost full.
  • Garnish with a slice of orange and maraschino cherry on top.

I don’t really like a lot of orange juice in my Shirley Temple so what I do is I fill up my glass with the lemon-lime soda and just squeeze the juice out of the orange slice garnish.

an entry for .Have a great weekend!
