Beer Steins

I think Beer is one of the most popular drink. Almost everyone I know loves drinking beer, specially peanutbutter♥. Don’t look at me because I don’t drink beer. I cook food that are great partners to beer, though. Food like fried ruffle fat, crispy pork ears, grilled pork belly and grilled fish and I end up eating the food and not drinking the beer.

Maybe I just needed to drink beer in style and drink them in a Beer stein. Beer Steins originated in Germany. They are traditional beer container usually made of porcelain, pewter or glass and has a pewter lid with a thumb-lever so they can be lifted and opened with one hand. If you are a collector or a beer drinker, you most probably own one of these. I was quite surprised that we own two old beer steins. They are less colorful than the one on the left. I was more surprised when I learned that those beautiful containers are used to drink beer.

This made me much more interested in beer. Now I also want to own some Beer Glasses. I think they are great conversation pieces because of the different designs they showcase.
