Greens Vegetarian Restaurant and Cafe

Tucked away in the middle of Tomas Morato along Scout Castor is a homey restaurant called Greens.

It is a vegetarian restaurant known for serving delicious meatless dishes.

I am a meat lover but I know my body would thank me for giving it a break for one whole meatless day.

…and I heard about the delicious barbecue and sisig here that could fool you into thinking they are the real thing..*evil grin*

So after a couple of hours of non-stop shopping for sandals and shirts, we came here for lunch with a promise to be back at the mall to check out a few more sandals and some biagi beads after.

Veggie Sticks {P95/$2.20}

Appetizer was Veggie Sticks. It’s different kinds of veggies wrapped in Nori, dipped in batter and then deep fried. It resembles lumpia but the nori gives it a much more tasty and unique twist. I also ordered Pumpkin Soup {P50} which is not like the usual creamy pumpkin soup found in several restaurants. It tasted of pumpkin and ginger.

Grilled Mushroom and Tofu Kebabs {P116/$2.70}

My love for grilled food always gets the best of me and I would choose it over anything on the menu… {except dessert}. Tofu kebabs sounded fantastic and it is. Mushroom, zucchini, bell pepper, tofu and gluten which greatly resembles pork in barbecue sauce and smoky flavor can never go wrong.

Mint Iced Tea {P35/$0.81} and Freshly Squeezed Dayap Juice {P40/$0.93}

To quench our thirst we ordered Mint Iced Tea and Dayap Juice. Ykaie loved the dayap juice. I better make this at home.

Greens Vegetarian Barbecue {P80/$1.86}

It certainly tasted like the real thing. Ykaie loved it, I knew she thought this is real pork she was munching on. She didn’t question the brown rice it came with as well…. she just ate.

Veggie “Fish” Relleno {P155/$3.60}

This Veggie Fish Relleno absolutely looked like real stuffed milkfish. It is served fried to a crisp. We took home the unfinished half and I ate it today.

Sisig {P155/$3.60}

Now I know why this is one of the bestsellers and one of the most raved-about food here at Greens. Mashed Tofu, gluten and that rich blend of spices and seasonings mimics the real thing minus the fat and the cholesterol.

I also took half of it home and my mom thought she was eating a pork dish.

Taho {p20/$0.46} and Eggless Carrot Cake {P85/$1.97}

Dessert was chilled Taho {soy pudding} and carrot cake. The carrot cake was a bit dry but is very tasty, probably because of the dates, walnuts and raisins.

  1. Naku, gusto ko itong puntahan! The food are priced okay naman, and maganda rin ang presentation nila. Lasang fish ba yung fish?  🙂

  2. been here too. aside form the healthy goodness, they are priced cheaper too. i don’t like the sisig though, perhaps it’s because i have been eating tofu so i can determine which is real pork and real tofu. oddly though, i like the barbecue, hahaha. they’re selling some organic anech anech to.

  3. That sisig looks like the vegetarian sisig I tried before, I cant believe it was vegetarian as it looks real and it taste nearly similar to its meat counterpart.
