A Festive Chinese Buffet Menu To Celebrate Chinese New Year at F Restaurant

Dear F Restaurant,

Can I call you F? or do you prefer F Restaurant?

We are now on a first name basis, right? Good….. Thank You. That means were friends.

This afternoon I found my humble self having lunch on your fine establishment with a generous amount of red wine {which I only had a teeny weeny amount of} and an excellent spread of Chinese dishes.

It was breathtaking.

Beef Kimchi

It felt like good fortune must be upon me this wonderful year of  dragon when you served me this Beef Kimchi. I can still remember the soft slices of beef and its spicy flavor giving my tastebuds a little kick.

Cucumber with Garlic and Chili Sesame

…And these cool cucumber bites balancing the spiciness.

Cold Pork Knuckle

It was definitely my first time to see pork knuckles served as  cold cuts and the vinegar dressing reminds me of ceviche. So delicious.

Jelly Fish

I want to let you know that I’m not afraid of trying out new things…….. and that these spicy, chewy, jellyfish strips is now one of my favorite appetizers.

Boiled Peanuts

So what does F means? I’m sure F means Fancy with a capital F… because you can turn traditional boiled peanuts into these soft, fancy pearls.

I think I heard that you put cinnamon into these peanuts. So so…………………. fancy.

Seafood Spinach Soup

How did you know that I love soup? You served me two kinds and I happen to love them both….

Crab and Corn Soup

But in all honesty, I love this Crab and Corn Soup a little bit more. There was a lot of crab meat and corn kernels, it was exploding with flavor.

You served Fried Noodle with Sliced Pork, BokChoi, Carrots, Mushroom and X.O. Sauce…..

Hainanese Chicken with…

…..Ginger Sauce,

a side of Steamed Asparagus with X.O. Sauce,

and Deep Fried Pork Ribs with Salt and Pepper.

Our community felt like a family. It was a great feeling. There was lots of laughter in your restaurant. Did you feel that?

U.S. Prime Rib with Gravy

I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious this Prime Rib is. You know, I prefer my meats to be medium well. But for a while there, I forgot that I don’t really eat pink meat.

The fact that I have forgotten must tell you something…… These are amazing!

Peking Duck Wraps

Serving Peking Duck in wraps is pure genius. Each and every bite was heaven! Each component brought out the taste of the duck, specially the sauce. My heart thanks you.

Steamed Marlin with Soya Sauce

Szechuan Chicken

Lechon Macau

Soft pork meat, pork fat and and and oh-so-crispy skin! These would make for a Happy Chinese New year!

Szechuan Beef

Mango Sago

And how did you make that Mango Sago taste so delicious? It left me wanting for more, I’m inspired to make my own version.

As I understand, these wonderful dishes and some more will be available for lunch and dinner in a Chinese Buffet from January 16 to 31, 2012 for P998++ per person. So everyone gets to enjoy and indulge ….

…..and if they happen to be there on January 23,2012, they would get to witness the majestic Dragon Dance on top of other activities.

Thank you, F Restaurant… from the bottom of my heart.

Love,

peachkins
