A Sweet Surprise That is Picket Fence Ice Cream

My daughter Ykaie, having Rocky Chuncky Choc and my niece Gab-Gab with a cone of Wordy’s White Chocolate

Everyone in our family loves  ice cream. Ice Cream is like a magic word around the house. Just say those words and you can make my daughter Ykaie and my nieces behave. You can make them do everything willfully as long as there’s Ice Cream.

It’s also something that we can eat for the whole day.

Last friday, just right after lunch, we tried on a new ice cream brand that’s making quite a buzz — Picket Fence Ice Cream. We went to their branch at the 3rd level of SM The Block in North EDSA.

It’s a cute blue kiosk that is like a make-shift ice cream cart that carries around 10 flavors of ice cream. It’s a family owned business and the ice creams are imported from Australia. Each flavor is named after a family member. There’s Tiffy Strawberry, Beebee Honey, Pery White Choco Raspberry {one of the flavors of the month for November}, Mei Mei Mint, Celo’s Cookies and Cream, Wordy’s White Chocolate and Leeny Vanilli.

I tried several flavors but settled with one of the bestsellers, Beebee Honey. It’s creamy, sweet, honey ice cream with hints of honeycomb and sticky pastillas-like bits. I loved it and told my sis that she should try it.

I also tried the Mei Mei Mint. I was expecting a combination of mint ice cream and chocolate chips but to my surprise it was like a really chunky cookies and mint ice cream! I am a huge mint chocolate ice cream fan and I think I found my new favorite brand for my mint chocolate fix!

They also have three flavors named after the Kikay Barkada of RX 93.1’s The Morning Rush. They are huge fans of it and they actually asked their permission to use their names.

The flavors are: Chichi Chocolate Chip  for Chico Garcia, Delle Macadamia for Delamar Arias and Orange Gigi for Gino Quillamor. This one I missed when I was at their branch. I better go back and try the Orange Gigi. Shhh, don’t tell anyone but I have this teeny-weeny crush on Ginoboi….LOL!

Just in case you’re wondering how much is a scoop of ice cream:

₱60/scoop,
₱110/double scoop
₱35 on a cone

Currently, SM MOA, SM Southmall and SM The Block (North EDSA) but they will be opening their first branch at 317 Katipunan Ave. FBR Arcade Loyola Heights, Quezon City on November 20, 2012.

They will have more ice cream concoctions there like sundaes, parfaits, shakes and food items such as burgers and other breakfast items.
