Things I Learned in Thirty-Three Years

Happy Birthday to me.

Yup, today is my birthday and it’s the first time I actually find myself blogging about it on the day itself…and early in the morning too!

I’ve been thinking about the past years and all the fumbles and mistakes, the accidents, apologies, happy times and all the learnings that happened and will continue to happen in my journey…

Oh, lessons are learned… some of it I learned in two minutes and some, well, I learned the hard way….

These are it:

Life is not fair. I know, this fact is highly frustrating. My mom saw to it that I learned this…now, I’m making Ykaie see this at an early age.

If it hurts, don’t wear it. It will hurt some more if you’re stubborn and keep on wearing it.

Do what you love and be the best that you can be.

Talking crap about people sometimes feel good but it will end up really bad, specially if they heard you.

Coffee, cookies or sleep is always the answer…whatever the problem or the question is……… Well, sometimes, it’s ice cream.

Date a keeper and then marry him. He will make you chocolate cake even if he’s 4, 290 miles away…and then take blurry photos of himself holding that cake…. I love you, peanutbutter

No one keeps secrets. There are only two kinds, the one that is not worth keeping and the one that is too good to keep. Remember this when you pour your heart out to anyone.

Always bring barf bags when you’re with three kids on a joy ride.

The rumors are true, metabolism do get slower as you get older. Eat cake, eat chocolates and then exercise…even if you don’t want to.

Back up your hard drive.

Breathe. Relax. You will always have a million things to do, no matter what. Take time to rest and refresh your mind then resume.

Never EVER ask your sister what to do with leftover cake…unless you want a CAKE FIGHT…and sticky hair…and icing all over the furniture…

If someone tells you you’re crazy, believe them…then tell them it’s contagious.

You’ll always question every decision you make and never feel completely certain that you made the right choice. It’s normal and pointless…unless you’re schizoprenic.

At some point in your life, you’re going to puke in public. It’s fine. No one cares. Just puke.

Patience is an exercise.

If in doubt, apologize. And learn to do it sincerely…

Always, always, always take notes.. even if you think you have such an awesome memory.

God is Good even if there are times that you think he isn’t.

There’s a a lot more where this come from I just have to think about it. Thank you for dropping by today.

Happy Birthday to me. Happy living to you.

I will be doing some birthday driving later with the kids. {Barf Bags already in the car.}
