French Onion Dip & A Food Find:California Crunch Cassava Chips

Even though you see me indulging from time to time, my priorities regarding food have changed over the years last few months. I am now a lot more conscious and as much as possible, opt for healthier alternatives.

This French Onion Dip is a skinnier version of the Caramelized Onion Dip I made three years ago. I’ve made adjustments and changes in the ingredients. Surprisingly, the taste remained the same only this time it’s healthier and contains a lot less calories.

Thanks to friends from California Crunch Cassava Chips who generously sent meĀ  samples, I also had healthier chips to dip into it.

California Crunch Cassava Chips is made from cassava instead of the usual potato. It’s a lot thicker, denser, starchy-er and sweeter than potato. It’s also a good source of Vitamin B3Ā  which helps to lower cholesterol, plus iron, and calcium.

One of the best things that I love about these chips is that it contains zero trans fat, has 30% less fat than the leading American potato chips brand and has zero cholesterol.

And you have two flavors to choose from : Barbecue and Sour Cream & Onions.

Barbecue has a sweet and spicy flavor while Sour Cream & Onions plays around the combination of sweet, fresh and tangy.

What do I love to dip into this French Onion Dip? I’d say it’s the Sour Cream & Onions.

  2. I love onion dip, but hubby doesn’t care for it, she only wants cheese dip which I make at home.

  3. Weee…. healthy snacking while still having that “junkfood bingeing” feel. šŸ™‚ Just curious though, if I do away with the Greek yogurt, while I end up with French Onion Soup?
