Homemade Apple Sauce for Babies

Homemade Apple Sauce for Twinkle

Twinkle will be turning six months old in a few days and guess what? We are now giving her stage 1 baby food. The first food I gave her was homemade apple sauce. Homemade Apple Sauce are very easy to prepare and that makes them an ideal first food for babies.

I think I would be preparing baby food for Twinkle from now on because I like having control over what goes in on what she eats. I want her to have natural food that’s free of preservatives.

I chose Red Delicious because it’s sweeter than most apples — and I’m sure twinkle would love it.

The apples were washed, peeled, and cut into tiny chunks. Then it was boiled for around ten minutes in water. I used a blender to puree the apples. No water and sugar were added.

It was then cooled before letting Twinkle eat it.

Apple Sauce can be stored in a BPA-free containers for up to 3 days and can be kept frozen for up to 3 months. Frozen apple sauce should be thawed in the fridge overnight and then microwaved to warm it before feeding.

Twinkle loves her Apple Sauce!

I’ll be following the four day rule in feeding Twinkle. The four day rule is a simple strategy to help spot baby digestive problems or potential allergies and easily identify problem foods.

The four day rule is: each time you introduce a new food to your baby, you need to continue feeding your baby that same food for four days. You may continue feeding  your baby other foods you have safely introduced, though but don’t introduce two new food at the same time.
