Grapefruit, Lemon, and Lime Detox Water

New Year. Ah, just the perfect opportunity to start fresh.

This year I’ve made up my mind and set my goals to thrive in all aspects of my life. One of them is health and fitness. I weighed myself yesterday and I am 55 lbs overweight. Those excess pounds have got to go. One of the steps that I’m taking is to drink more water. I found this Slim Down Detox Water recipe from Skinny Mom and she said that this is great in getting rid of post-holiday bloat and getting rid of the toxins from holiday over eating.

It’s a bit bitter at first. I’m guessing it’s because of the grapefruit but the taste gets better after a while or I think it’s just me getting used to it.

Grapefruit, Lemon, and Lime Detox Water

I’m planning on a low-carb, low-sugar diet for January because I think I need to shock my system to get a jumpstart. My day started the way I planned it. Low carb and low-sugar until lunch time. Come dinner time, I had a pretty large serving of rice with Lechon Kawali and Pinakbet plus a few spoonfuls of chocolate cake for dessert.

I know I was stress-eating but I couldn’t help it.

Grapefruit, Lemon, and Lime Detox Water

To tell you quite honestly, I am under a lot of stress lately and I think it’s one of the reasons why I am having a hard time losing weight. My father’s health had been declining due to an illness this last quarter of the year. He’s been in and out of the hospital and we can only pray for him to get better. That’s all I can share for now.

I do hope I’ll be able to follow through with low carb, low sugar meals for the whole day tomorrrow.
