I picked up an already prepared salad at the grocery the other day. I did because it was so tempting. You won’t have to do anything — its there!,Ready to eat. The salad contained mixed greens, shredded roasted chicken, peaches, carrots, corn kernels, dried cranberries and almonds. The dressing was Cranberry Vinaigrette.
It costs P154 [$3.27]. That’s a little bit more than if you would make your own salad. How am I going to save if I keep on buying something like this much less have high interest savings accounts? I’d have to make my own salad, no excuses! Having a healthy and delicious meal is as important as saving money nowadays.
What’s not nice about this is that when I opened the salad, the vinaigrette was already spoiled. I mean, I had to make another dressing for the salad. It got more expensive that way. Instead of saving, I spent more. It’s a good thing that the salad was still fresh. The roasted chicken was bland and dry, though. I learned my lesson. If I’m going to get a prepared salad, I will get the usual Caesar Salad Kit which costs only P88 [$1.99]. I always get that from the grocery and it’s always fresh and the dressing is always perfect.
