Pork Ribs with Sprite

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 kilo pork ribs, chopped into serving pieces
  • 1 pack tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 can Sprite
  • Fish sauce (patis), to taste
  • Optional: seasoning granules

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant and the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Add the pork ribs and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.
  3. Add the tomato paste and oyster sauce. Mix well to coat the pork evenly.
  4. Season with ground black pepper and seasoning granules, if using. Pour in the Sprite and stir.
  5. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes, or until the pork ribs are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Season with patis according to taste.
  7. Turn off the heat and serve hot with steamed rice.

✨ Tip: For a thicker, richer sauce, uncover during the last 5–10 minutes of cooking and let it reduce slightly.
