Room Service at Bellaroca Island Resort & Spa

On our first day on sweet Bellaroca Island, we  actually managed to do a lot of things and go around some of the scenic spots in the resort. So come night time, we were too tired to go to the restaurant to have dinner and decided on having room service instead….

We ordered everything to share, here, come share it with us….

Seafood Marinduque Salad {₱ 390++}

This salad was a good starter… it’s a mixture of the province’s prawns, squid, tanigue and mussels served with fish extract, lime and sambal on a bed of mango, cucumber and mandarin pieces and enhanced with oriental dressing. I just wished there was more on the plate. I am leaning more towards seafood because they’re the ideal protein for any diet. They contain less fat and is therefore the healthier choice.

Lechon Kawali {₱ 440++}

We also ordered Crispy Pork Belly served with a dipping sauce of sweet soy sauce and chopped shallot. I love the atchara {pickled papaya} that came with it. Instead of the usual shredded green papaya,  it’s sliced broadly but thinly. Each slice is just right for a bite.

We don’t look that much tired, don’t we? And peanutbutter looked like he just woke up from a nap {he did!}…

Pizza Napolitana {₱ 460++}

This pizza made with tomato, mozzarella, anchovies, capers and oregano was just enough for us to share. I needed a pizza with more vegetables and less meat so this was perfect for me that night. What I don’t like about it is that, the crust is too soft. It needs a little more toasting, other than that, the flavor was perfect.

Penne with Pesto {₱ 390++}

Pastas are served based on your own sauce and your choice of pasta. I chose penne with pesto sauce. The menu says their pesto is made with basil, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil and parmesan cheese but I think I saw some almond slivers that weren’t crushed to pieces. It made the sauce more flavorful and gave it a lot of texture.

Linguine with Arrabiata {₱ 440++}

Another pasta dish we ordered is Arrabiata and I chose it over Linguine. It’s a mildly spiced tomato sauce made tasty with bacon, onion and chili flakes. Not for the kids, I saw sis ate a lot of this….

Room service came from The Clubhouse, the hotel’s restaurant.
