Be careful on what you take during pregnancy

When I was pregnant, I was really careful on everything that I would eat, take or use. May it be food, medicine or beauty product. I was really paranoid on how it would affect the baby inside my tummy because I’ve heard a lot about the side effects of some medicines and beauty products.

Like Topamax, for example. Topamax has long been approved for the treatment of seizures due to epilepsy. later, it was approved for the prevention of migraine and headaches and has since become widely used in the treatment of migraines. Little did some people know that this medicine has terrible side effects specially to pregnant women.

This drug was later discovered to increase the risk of oral cleft defects like cleft lip and cleft palate when used by women during the first trimester of their pregnancy. Oral cleft defects occur when parts of the lip or palate do not completely fuse together and can lead to increased ear infections and other problems.

If that happens to me, it will surely lead to a topamax lawsuit 2011. Birth defects and health complications are serious matters and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Just in case this happens to you or to a loved one, then all you need is a team of experienced lawyers experts in complications associated with prescription medication.
