Captain Crust – A Hidden Gem in Pasig You’ll Want to Keep Coming Back To

Captain Crust

Just in time for Mother’s Day last Sunday, we stumbled upon a new favorite spot in Pasig — Captain Crust — and let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem worth sharing!

Captain Crust is tucked inside The Mezz at the SMB Prestige Building in Brgy. Bagong Ilog, and it’s everything a food-loving family like ours could ask for: cozy ambiance, delicious comfort food, friendly staff, and an interior filled with cool pop culture memorabilia. Think comic book covers, movie posters, and action figures — the kind of vibe that instantly makes you feel at home.

Their menu is a love letter to Italian-American fusion cuisine, serving up both Detroit-style deep dish and Napoletana thin-crust pizzas. Whether you’re a crust snob or a cheese fanatic (or both like me), there’s something here that’ll hit the spot.

Our Orders

We kicked off our meal with the Watermelon Salad — light, refreshing, and a perfect palate cleanser. It’s got mixed greens, juicy watermelon cubes, cucumber rose, arugula, and a tangy balsamic drizzle. It’s basically summer in a bowl!

Then came the Pollo Sampler (₱379) — deep-fried buffalo cut wings in three flavors: Garlic Parmesan, Ranchero, and Spicy Butter. It comes with a ranch dip on the side and yes, we did fight over the last piece.

Now for the main event: the pizzas. We had one of each kind just to be fair, of course.

First up: the All Meat Supreme (₱649) Napoletana pizza. Loaded with mozzarella, white cheddar, chorizo, mortadela (traditional & Siciliana), and bacon. Every bite was packed with savory, cheesy goodness — exactly how a proper meat lover’s pizza should be.

And then — drumroll — the Quattro Formaggi (₱719) Detroit-style pizza. It’s made with four cheeses: mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, white cheddar, and gorgonzola, then served with truffle honey for drizzling. The sweet-salty combo is heavenly. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did!

For pasta, we tried the Tex-Mex Mac & Cheese (₱479) on Ykaie’s recommendation. It’s penne pasta in spicy cheese sauce mixed with bolognese, pico de gallo, and topped with tortilla strips. It’s like a taco and mac & cheese had a baby — fun, flavorful, and kid-approved.

Dessert was a sweet ending to our feast. We got the Red Velvet Cheesecake (₱249) and New York Cheesecake (₱289). Both were rich and creamy, but the New York one was my favorite, especially with the salted caramel sauce and walnuts. I love a little crunch and sweet-salty twist!

We sipped on some refreshing mocktails too: Chasing Sunsets and Cucumber Cooler — light, fruity, and perfect for washing down all that cheesy goodness.

The Mezz

After eating, Daddydoodledoo wandered into The Mezz store (yes, it’s connected to the resto!) and explored their impressive collection of liquor and JML products. I was eyeing the JML Dual Air Fryer and Slush Maker — Mother’s Day wishlist, anyone?

Final Thoughts?

Captain Crust isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a vibe. The food is top-tier, the staff is super friendly, and the whole place just makes you want to hang out a little longer. Whether it’s a casual family lunch, date night, or a fun catch-up with friends, this spot deserves a spot on your must-visit list.
