Breakfast Beef Tapa (₱375) , a classic Filipino-style marinated beef tapa served with garlic rice and two eggs, any style and with atchara and seasoned vinegar on the side

I woke up a bit too early today and  while I’m sipping a cup of coffee, my thoughts was filled with IHOP’s new Filipino Breakfast line. Last week was my first time at IHOP. It was really nice that my first time there was welcomed with the launch of their Filipino Breakfast line. Although I prefer fruits and yogurts or soft boiled eggs most of the time, I am a big garlic rice and pinoy breakfast fan. Well, aren’t we all?? heehee..

IHOP started offering Filipino breakfast on their menu last March 17, 2014.

According to Archie Rodriguez, President and CEO of Global Restaurants Concepts, Inc. (GRCI), the Philippine partner of IHOP Restaurants, “These Filipino favourites will be exclusively offered in the Philippines for a limited time. IHOP Restaurant’s pancakes, omellettes, stuffed French toasts, crepes, and other American items have become instant hits since we opened a year ago. With IHOP’s enthusiastic approval, we’re proudly introducing a menu that expands our appeal just as we’re expanding our location

And expanding is what they really are! This popular chain will open up two more branches this Summer. One in Century Mall and one in Filinvest, Alabang. They are also looking to open up six more locations across Metro Manla before the year is done.

IHOP has five new Filipino offerings namely: Breakfast Beef Tapa, Savory Pork Longganisa, Classic Chicken Tocino, Classic Pork Tocino, and Lean Chicken Sausage. I like everything because all were equally tasty, tender, and juicy but the Savory Pork Longganisa is what I love best. It has the texture of an american sausage but the taste of true blue pinoy longganisa.

BTW, each Filipino breakfast can be ordered with a choice of the following:

These Filipino breakfasts were downed with IHOP’s Splashberry (₱175), a blend of juicy red strawberries, lemon-lime soda and premium orange juice.

With Summer peeking in, IHOP also launched four new ice cream parfait flavors which they co-created with Nestle Ice Cream. Check out the flavors below:

Mixed Berry Parfait (₱245) – Chocolate Ice Cream smothered with cool strawberry and blueberry toppings, drizzled with creamy yogurt and finished with oatmeal streusel on top.

Childhood Memories (₱195), which I think has the coolest name among all four ice cream parfaits, is a taste of childhood in a cup filled with vanilla ice cream layered with strawberry and blueberry syrups and topped with crispy golden hash brown and cheesecake bits.

Chocolate Decadence (₱245)  is indeed very decadent with IHOP’s very own Butter Pecan syrup, dark chocolate and white chocolate chips, and maple candied bacon all perfectly topped on scoops of chocolate ice cream.

These ice cream treats will be available all throughout the summer.
