Spooky Fun in the Kitchen

Halloween isn’t just about costumes and candies — it’s about family fun in the kitchen! 🎃 Every year, I love making a few “scary-but-cute” treats with Ykaie and Twinkle. There’s something magical about seeing their eyes light up when they decorate cookies or drizzle chocolate “blood” on spooky snacks.
So if you’re looking for ideas for your own family’s Halloween celebration, here are 7 easy, Halloween snacks for kids that are spooky-sarap and ready in minutes!
1. Mummy Hotdogs
Wrap hotdogs in strips of puff pastry (or lumpia wrapper if you’re on a budget!) and bake until golden. Add ketchup “eyes” for that adorable mummy look.
💡 Mom Tip: These disappear fast, so make double!
2. Chocolate Spider Balls
Use crushed Graham crackers, condensed milk, and cocoa powder to form balls. Add pretzel “legs” and candy eyes.
💡 No-bake and perfect for merienda or trick-or-treat giveaways!
3. Mandarin “Pumpkins”
Peel mandarins and stick a tiny celery stalk on top — healthy, cute, and looks like mini pumpkins!
💡 Great for balance after all the sweets.

4. Skeleton Brownies
Make your favorite brownie recipe using Filipino tablea for that deep, rich flavor. Top with white chocolate skeletons!
💡 They’re fudgy, spooky, and so Pinoy!
5. Banana Ghost Pops
Slice bananas in half, insert a stick, dip in white chocolate, and use chocolate chips for the eyes. Freeze for 10 minutes.
💡 Perfect cold treat for our tropical weather!
6. Bloody Cheese Sandwiches
Make cheese sandwiches and cut them with Halloween cookie cutters (bats, ghosts, pumpkins). Add ketchup or strawberry jam for the “bloody” effect.
💡 Creepy but so fun!
7. Spider Web Pancakes
Use pancake batter in a squeeze bottle to “draw” spider webs on your pan. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate syrup.
💡 Breakfast or dessert? You decide.
Halloween doesn’t have to mean expensive costumes or imported candies. Sometimes, the sweetest memories are made right at home — laughing over messy chocolate and silly faces.
So roll up your sleeves, call the kids, and start creating your own Halloween snacks for kids! 👩🍳🎃
