One thing I always love about living in South Caloocan is the surprise food events that just pop up throughout the year. Pero every October, there’s one happening I always look forward to — Oktoberfest, our very own mini food bazaar-slash-food park na punong-puno ng comfort food, street eats, music, and family vibes.
Last year, it was held at Plaza Rizal.
This year, the food fest moved to C-Cube Complex at Caloocan City Hall–South, and honestly, the place felt bigger, livelier, and mas festive.
And would you believe — I didn’t even know may event pala this year?
If not for Ykaie na nagyaya one evening (“Mommy, kain tayo doon sa Oktoberfest!”), hindi ko talaga malalaman. 😂 Busy-mom things!
So off we went — me, my sister who calls herself Anney, Ykaie, and Twinkle — ready for an unplanned food adventure.

What You’ll Find at Oktoberfest (Spoiler: Ang daming pagkain!)
Pagdating pa lang namin, you could already hear the live band playing… plus the smell of grilled food everywhere. Alam mo yung amoy pa lang, busog ka na?
Here are some of the food stalls and treats we saw:
✔ Sushi trays + sushi bake
Colorful, loaded, at syempre Instagrammable.
✔ Chicharon bulaklak
Crispy, smoky, and best eaten with suka. Hindi pwedeng walang suka.
✔ Ilocos empanada
Yung freshly made—gabi-gabi ko naisipan bumili after this.
✔ 10-Yen Coin Pancake
Small, cute, fluffy Japanese pancakes na perfect pang-dessert.
✔ Fruit juices in big jars + flavored sodas
Strawberry, blue lemonade, lychee, peach tea…
Yes, uminom ako kahit alam kong malamig. Worth it. 😂
✔ Takoyaki
The crowd favorite!
May classic, may cheese, may overload toppings.
✔ BBQ everything
Pork
Isaw
Tenga
Betamax
Hotdogs
At kung ano-ano pang skewers na hindi mo alam kailangan mo until you see it.
And of course…
✔ Cheesy grilled scallops & oysters
Twinkle’s absolute favorite!
As in hindi pa kami nakaupo, bumili na siya agad.

Seating + Music: Very Family-Friendly
They set up tables and chairs all around C-Cube so you can really sit down and enjoy your food. May mga families, barkadas, even couples on date night.
And siyempre… may live band.
The vibe was very chill — parang outdoor dinner na may mini concert sa background. Perfect pang-weekend unwind.
Our Favorite Food of the Night
Twinkle fell in love with the cheesy scallops and oysters — no surprise there.
Ykaie went for the Ilocos Empanada and BacSiLog kasi forever siyang “savory queen.”
Me?
I tried several things, but honestly…
It was the TAKOYAKI that stole my attention.
I don’t know if it was the sauce, the softness, or siguro gutom lang talaga ako —
but it was so good, I ended up going back for another order.
There was a stall selling a “premium takoyaki” version with extra bonito flakes and mayo drizzle…
Mommy Peach approved. 💛
Mommy Peach’s Note
I didn’t expect much kasi surprise food trip lang talaga ‘to, pero we ended up having such a fun night. Oktoberfest South Caloocan is one of those community events that make the city feel warm and alive — lots of food, lots of families, and a very simple kind of happiness.
We’ll definitely be back next year…
but this time, hindi na ako pahuhuli sa balita. 😂
If you’re near the area, go visit next October!
Bring your kids, your appetite, and your love for takoyaki.
