Christmas Day for us is all about slow mornings, comfort food, and not stressing in the kitchen. After Noche Buena the night before, I really wanted something festive but easy—something we could snack on while chatting, watching TV, and just enjoying the holiday.
Enter: our Christmas Day Charcuterie Board.
I love making charcuterie boards because they feel special without requiring hours of cooking. Plus, everyone gets to pick what they like—walang arte, walang pilitan. Just good food and good vibes.
Why a Charcuterie Board Works So Well for Christmas
Honestly, charcuterie boards are a lifesaver during the holidays.
✔ No cooking (or very minimal prep)
✔ Looks fancy even if it’s easy
✔ Perfect for grazing the whole day
✔ Kids and adults both enjoy it
And let’s be real — after days of heavy holiday meals, sometimes you just want small bites of everything.
What’s on Our Christmas Charcuterie Board
Here’s everything I used for our board this Christmas Day:
🥨 Crunchy Base: Pretzels
I added two types of pretzels for variety—different shapes and textures make the board more interesting. Pretzels are great because they’re sturdy, not messy, and pair well with both sweet and savory items.
🍯 Sweet Extras & Snacks
To balance out the salty and savory items, I added a mix of sweets and fruits:
- Truffle Honey – such a game changer with cheese
- Assorted Nuts – for crunch and texture
- Fresh Grapes – instant freshness and color
- Cadbury Fruit & Nut Chocolate – a classic favorite
- Ferrero Rocher – because Christmas isn’t complete without it
This sweet section always disappears first in our house!
🧀 Cheese Selection
I kept the cheese selection simple but flavorful:
- Gouda – creamy, mild, and very kid-friendly
- Pepper Jack – for a little kick
- Greek-Style Cheese with Herbs and Olives (bottled) – this added a nice Mediterranean twist and made the board feel extra special
I love mixing familiar cheeses with one “something different” so it still feels safe but exciting.
🥩 Cold Cuts & Meats
For the savory lovers, I added three types of cold cuts:
- Hungarian Sausage – smoky and bold
- Smoked Pepperoni – always a crowd favorite
- Truffle Salami – rich, indulgent, and perfect for the holidays
These paired so well with the cheeses and pretzels — sobrang sarap pang-kurot habang nagkukuwentuhan.
How I Arranged the Board (No Rules, Promise!)
I always start with the big items first — cheese blocks and small bowls for nuts or honey. Then I work my way around the board, filling spaces with meats, pretzels, fruits, and chocolates.
Tip lang:
- Mix colors (dark chocolates next to light cheese)
- Vary textures (soft, crunchy, chewy)
- Don’t overthink it—rustic looks best
A charcuterie board doesn’t have to be perfect. Basta mukhang masaya at masarap, panalo na.
Why I’ll Always Make a Charcuterie Board for Christmas
This board was perfect for our Christmas Eve — no pressure, no stress, just comfort food done beautifully. We nibbled on it the whole night, paired it with drinks, and enjoyed every bite.
It reminded me that sometimes, the best holiday meals aren’t the most complicated ones. They’re the ones that let you slow down, relax, and actually enjoy the moment.
If you’re planning your next holiday spread—or even just a weekend treat—I highly recommend trying a charcuterie board. Simple, festive, and always a hit.
