Some lunches are quick and practical — but every now and then, you get a lunch that feels intentionally slow, beautifully paced, and quietly indulgent.
Our lunch at TungLok Seafood was exactly that kind of experience.
Located at S Maison, Tung Lok Seafood offers a calm, elegant space that instantly makes you want to sit back, pour some tea, and enjoy your meal without rushing. As a mom who’s usually eating while multitasking (or reheating food for the third time 😅), this already felt like a small luxury.

Comforting and Crispy Bites
We began with the Deep-fried Glutinous Rice Dumpling, and it was the perfect way to ease into the meal. Crisp on the outside with that satisfying chewiness inside, it felt both comforting and indulgent — simple, familiar, but executed really well.
Then came the Crown Tofu Soup, served warm and soothing. Light yet flavorful, this dish felt like a gentle reset for the palate. The tofu was soft and silky, swimming in a broth that was clean, delicate, and quietly nourishing —one of those dishes that makes you slow down and sip thoughtfully.
Main Dishes: Where the Flavors Truly Shine

The Braised Fish Fillet with Pork Belly in Claypot was one of those dishes that immediately commands attention when it arrives at the table. Rich, savory, and deeply comforting, the fish was tender and flaky, while the pork belly added that luscious depth that makes every spoonful satisfying. Served bubbling hot, this dish felt hearty without being overwhelming.

The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was an instant crowd-pleaser. Perfectly cooked, lightly crisp, and seasoned just right, each bite delivered that balance of salt, spice, and natural shrimp sweetness. This is the kind of dish you keep reaching for—even when you’re already full.
To round everything out, we had the Yang Chow Fried Rice—a classic done right. Fragrant, fluffy, and packed with ingredients, it tied all the dishes together beautifully. Not oily, not heavy, just comforting and familiar in the best way.
Sweet Endings: Light, Refreshing, and Satisfying

Dessert at TungLok Seafood deserves its own moment.
The Taro Puree with Ice Cream was creamy, smooth, and gently sweet. It felt nostalgic and indulgent at the same time, with the cold ice cream melting into the warm taro—soft, comforting, and quietly luxurious.
The Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo was the perfect contrast. Light, refreshing, and bursting with fruity freshness, it cleansed the palate and ended the meal on a bright, happy note. After a satisfying seafood lunch, this dessert felt just right—not too heavy, not too sweet.
Drinks were ordered throughout the meal, complementing the food and adding to that relaxed, unhurried dining experience.
The Overall Experience: Sosyal but Never Stiff

Mommy Peach’s Note: A Lunch Worth Coming Back To
This TungLok Seafood lunch experience reminded me why dining out can still feel special. It’s not about flashy dishes or trendy plating — it’s about balance, quality, and the joy of eating well-prepared food in a space that lets you slow down.
