We had such a super busy weekend, friends! The kind of weekend where, once it’s over, you just want to stay in bed all day and not move. I was so tired it honestly took me an entire day to recover.
Last Saturday was officially buy-Ykaie-shoes-day. We went to One Ayala because she had her heart set on these dark brown loafers from Andanté. But when we got there — surprise! — only black and cream were available. So instead of loafers, we started the great rubber shoes hunt. And let me tell you, it felt like we went through 398,423,786 stores (okay fine, maybe 10 stores… pero ang dami pa rin!). We even reached Glorietta while searching.

By the time we were done, gutom na gutom na kami. Lunch was at Tim Ho Wan. I really love the branch here at One Ayala — it’s so open and maaliwalas, perfect after a long walk. We got a nice booth, and while waiting for our orders, Twinkle and Daddydoodledoo pretended they were asleep. Well, si Daddydoodledoo totoo ngang kulang sa tulog — he came straight from work. Superdad points! ❤️

We kicked things off with my all-time favorite: Baked BBQ Pork Buns. Golden and slightly crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with a sweet and savory pork filling that’s tender and saucy. Served piping hot — as in paso-sa-dila hot — but totally worth it.
Twinkle, of course, went straight for her favorite Pork and Shrimp Dumplings (Siomai). Juicy, plump, and packed with flavor. She paired it with the Fried Rice with Beef, Shrimp, and Egg — flavorful rice with generous toppings in every bite.

Si Daddydoodledoo naman had the Pork Congee with century egg and salted egg — warm, creamy, and super comforting. Perfect food for someone running on zero sleep.

Ykaie shared rice with Twinkle and ordered Pork Rib with Black Bean and Dumpling with Spicy Sauce — the pork ribs were tender and savory, while the dumplings had just the right kick.

We also shared Prawn Dumplings and Steamed Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp — both light yet flavorful, with fresh shrimp and that earthy spinach taste.

Of course, I had to have my favorite Braised Soup HK Style with Shredded Chicken and Mushroom — rich broth, tender chicken, and earthy mushrooms. And we tried something new: Vermicelli Roll with Sweet and Sesame Sauce — soft, silky rolls coated with a nutty-sweet sesame sauce. Bagong favorite alert!
We left with full tummies, tired feet, and happy hearts. Sometimes weekends are exhausting, but when they’re filled with food we love and the people we love even more, sulit na sulit. 💛
