Marinara Sauce/ Pizza Sauce

I’m bored. In order to keep me entertained I made a list. Not really a specific list, just a list of random things that is happening right now…

Ykaie is eating apple slices dipped in popping candy. She came up with the combination on her own. I think we are looking into a little foodie princess here, hee.

I’m watching Runaway Bride and Richard Gere is eating a Cinnamon Roll. Oh, that looks like a really delicious Cinnamon Roll.

Ykaie got two pink donuts with rainbow sprinkles from grandpa.

Sis is eating oatmeal for dinner.

I’m still watching Runaway Bride……and I’m still bored.

I’d give an arm for a nice, romantic dinner and good conversation with peanutbutter. Oh, I’d kill for the good conversation alone.

Anyways, before I kill anybody……..let me tell you about my pizza sauce. Did I ever tell you I like my pizza sauce with a little sweetness? Well, I do and even dieting could not stop it. I like my man sweeter, though.
{ hence my peanutbutter}.

Good night, sweet wednesday.

Ingredients:
1 white onion,chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup tomato,chopped {fresh or canned}combined with
2 tbsp tomato paste
or you can use 1½ cup of instant tomato sauce
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
½ tsp Splenda

Directions:

  • Sauté garlic and onions in heated oil until translucent.
  • Add tomatoes/ tomato sauce and tomato paste.
  • Simmer for a few minutes over low heat until tomatoes are wilted.
  • Add basil, oregano, parmesan cheese and sweetener.
  • Stir and simmer for a few seconds.
  • Turn off heat and use to top pizzas or chicken breasts.

I normally add butter to this sauce cause it makes the sauce richer but I am on a health kick so there’s no butter but if you are making sauce right now, I’d advise you to add butter.
