Salad in a Jar


  • Romaine Lettuce, torn into pieces
  • pecan halves
  • cucumber, diced
  • carrots, julienned
  • red onion, chopped
  • ham, diced
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette


  1. Layer up the ingredients in a jar starting with the balsamic vinaigrette or any dressing that you want.
  2. I started with the balsamic vinaigrette, ham, onion, carrots,cucumbers, pecans and put the romaine lettuce on top.
  3. Before eating, give the jar a shake for the vinaigrette to touch each of the salad ingredient.
  4. Now all you need is a fork to eat it right out of the jar.


Make sure the dressing and the lettuce doesn’t touch each other, specially if you are going to eat this at a later time. The lettuce will wilt if it’s soaked up with the dressing.
