I am a big ice cream fan. If you would go back in time and ask the 10-year-old Peachy what her favorite food is…. she would probably tell you it’s ice cream. I find comfort in these cold, sweet, creamy, dreamy indulgence that I would always ask my tatay to buy me a cup or a tub.
Growing up didn’t stop me from eating and liking and dreaming about ice cream. But my taste matured and I now look for unique flavors, artisanal creations, and brands that are one of a kind.
I’ve already heard and read about Carmen’s Best Ice Cream and I also found out that they sell it at the Echo Store in Centris which is the nearest store that carries it. Somehow, I never made it to the Echo Store in Centris and instead went to their branch in Serendra.
Carmen’s Best Ice Cream, the brainchild of Paco Magsaysay, started out as a hobby. He named it after his daughter Carmen. Because he had access to pure and fresh cow’s milk from the family’s dairy farm in Laguna, Paco attempted to make his own ice cream. He bought an ice cream maker, whipped up a batch at home and was very pleased with the results. His hobby soon turned into a successful small business.
Today, Carmen’s Best is poised to raise the bar on how premium ice cream should taste
Dense, rich, creamy, Carmen’s Best uses 100% cow’s milk and cream, fresh from their own dairy farm everyday. It is homemade artisanal ice cream, made the old-fashioned way. That means, no water, no additives, no mass-producing, all craftsmanship. Carmen’s Best also uses the finest ingredients available and sources them from all over the globe, so you can have pure indulgence with every spoonful.
I was able to try a few flavors including:
- Pistachio – This is made from pure pistachio from Sicily and a must try for all Pistachio lovers out there as it is velvety smooth and creamy.
- Salted Caramel – This is by far the most delicious Salted Caramel Ice Cream I’ve tried. It has that perfect balance of salty, sweet, smoky, and buttery flavors.
And my favorite among all the ice cream flavors I’ve tried? Cereal Milk, inspired by Christina Tosi’s creation at Momofuku Milk Bar, this is made from cornflake-infused milk with Almonds for that added crunch.
Other flavors are: Hokey Pokey, Pistachio Almond Fudge, Brazilian Coffee, Jamoca Almond Fudge, Butter Pecan, Spanish Turron, Malted Milk, Kahlua Coffee, Eggnog, Green Tea, Avocado, Butterscotch Pecan, Cheese, Coconut, Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut, Honey, Madagascar Vanilla, Maple Walnut, Milk Chocolate, Rocky Road, Strawberry, Tres Leches, and Ube.
