Finally Got To Try The Halal Guys in SM Megamall

Finally Got To Try The Halal Guys in SM Megamall
Gyro Over Rice (small|₱269)

I’m really glad that peanutbutter is always able to accompany me and drive me to events specially this one day that I have to be in Ortigas and the MRT having “technical difficulties” that day. We had our little Twinkle along since we don’t have a nanny and she had no choice but to tag along with her parents..heehee.

Twinkle wasn’t in a good mood that day. She was crying a lot and when she’s like that, peanutbutter gets upset as well. He didn’t know what to do to calm her down. Add to the fact that he wasn’t able to have a big breakfast before we left the house, — he was hangry.

So when I came to meet them, both daddy and baby were upset. We needed a good lunch. Since we wanted to try The Halal Guys, off we went to SM Megamall Mega Food Hall to eat.

The Halal Guys is a famous mediterranean restaurant chain in New York which just opened up recently in the Philippines. They’re specially known for their Gyro, Chicken, and Falafel Rice Platters and Sandwiches.

I ordered the Gyro Over Rice (small|₱269) which is like a shawarma topped over rice only without onions and cucumber. White onions and bell peppers are ordered as an add-on for  ₱25. This rice platter consists of rice, tasty beef slices, chopped lettuce, tomato, and two small pieces of their pita bread then drizzled with a yogurt-based white sauce. You can order extra white sauce for ₱25 as well. Their platter, even the small one,  is great for people who are hungry or those with big appetites. It has too much rice for me, though.

Gyro and Falafel Combo (regular|₱369)

I ordered the Gyro and Falafel Combo (regular|₱369) for peanutbutter. We love Falafel and this platter has three pieces of it, gyro, lettuce, tomato, and a few pieces of pita bread. Bell peppers and onions were ordered as add-ons. I felt that the regular size is just right for a man’s appetite but you know what, peanutbutter finds it too big and I couldn’t agree more. We could just have shared a regular size and ordered some pita and hummus on the side.

Anyway, I saw Sweetea by da.u.de on the Mega Food Hall, so naturally it was the drink that went with our food. I had Half and Half Lemonade with Calamansi Fruit Bombs.

The Halal Guys is located at 5L Mega Food Hall, SM Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall.
