Ginisang Sardinas with talbos ng sayote

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion,chopped
  • 2 cans sardines
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • juice from 3 calamansi
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 34 cups talbos ng sayote (sayote tops)


  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Sauté the garlic and onions until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Add the sardines and break it into chunky bits.
  4. Add the water, soy sauce, calamansi juice and bring to a boil.
  5. Add the talbos ng sayote. Cover and let it simmer until the sayote tops are wilted.
  6. Stir and season with patis if needed.
  7. Serve with steaming hot rice.
