There are days when life gets a little too busy (hello adulting 😅), and cooking for a celebration just isn’t part of the plan. Last week was one of those times. We had guests coming over for a special occasion at home, and instead of spending hours in the kitchen, we decided to order food trays from one of our tried-and-tested go-to’s — Casa Mabuhay.
We’ve been ordering from them for years, especially their Roast Beef, which has become a family favorite. So when we needed a delicious, hassle-free handaan — alam na kung sino ang tatawagan!
Here’s what we ordered and what we thought:

A Longtime Favorite: Their Roast Beef in Mushroom Sauce
Let me start with the star of the show: the Roast Beef in Mushroom Sauce (₱1,650 for Large). We’ve been ordering this from Casa Mabuhay for years — as in, tried and tested na talaga! The beef is always tender, flavorful, and generously smothered in their creamy mushroom gravy. It’s one of those dishes na sure crowd-pleaser — kahit mga bata gustong-gusto siya, lalo na kapag may kanin!
Cordon Bleu – Crispy, Cheesy, Sulit!
The Cordon Bleu (₱1,550 for Large) was another hit at the table. It had a crunchy breaded crust on the outside and a cheesy, ham-filled surprise on the inside. I loved how it stayed crisp even after delivery, and the kids were quick to grab seconds. If you’re looking for a classic dish na hindi nakakasawa, this one’s a must-order.

Baked Lemon Garlic Chicken – Light Yet Flavorful
The Baked Lemon Garlic Chicken (₱1,550 for Large) was perfect for guests who preferred something lighter but still tasty. It had that zesty lemon flavor balanced by garlic and herbs — simple, elegant, and masarap kainin kahit walang sauce. I found myself sneaking extra pieces when no one was looking. 😂
Pakbet with Lechon Kawali – Veggie Dish with a Twist
Para naman sa gulay, we got the Pakbet with Lechon Kawali (₱1,550 for Large). It’s a nice balance of healthy and indulgent — kasi hello, may crispy lechon kawali on top! The veggies were cooked just right (not mushy), and the lechon added that crunch and lasang fiesta feels.

🍮 Desserts: Mango Sago & Buco Pandan – ₱1,000 each (L)
We ordered two desserts to round out the meal — and here’s our honest take:
- The Mango Sago was light, milky, and refreshing. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was a favorite among the kids. It’s a classic you can’t go wrong with.
- The Buco Pandan, however, wasn’t our favorite this time. It was okay, but compared to the mango sago, it tasted a bit bland and lacked that creamy, coconutty flavor we usually look for. Medyo bitin sa linamnam. Not bad, just not something we’d reorder.
Casa Mabuhay delivered once again! Most of the dishes were sulit, well-seasoned, and came in generous servings. They made our at-home celebration stress-free and delicious — no chopping, no dishwashing, just eating and enjoying time with family.
Would we order again? Absolutely. Especially that roast beef… forever love. 😋
