Feeding the whole family can sometimes feel like a never-ending challenge, lalo na kapag kailangan mong mag-budget every single day. Alam mo yung gusto mong masarap, busog, pero hindi sabog ang wallet? That’s me almost every week — trying to plan meals that everyone loves and won’t cost a fortune.
So today, I thought I’d share some of our go-to Budget-Friendly Meals Under ₱200 for the Whole Family. Promise, masarap pa rin and busog si Daddy, si ate, at si bunso.

1. Ginisang Sayote with Ground Pork (₱180)
Simple, healthy, and very filling. Sayote is budget-friendly, and just a little ground pork goes a long way when sautéed with garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Best with a big pot of rice.
2. Chicken Afritada (₱200)
A whole chicken cut into serving portions, cooked with potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers. Tomato-based and flavorful — and the best part? Leftovers taste even better the next day!
3. Paksiw na Bangus (₱150)
Bangus + vinegar + garlic + ginger = heaven! This dish is easy on the wallet and pairs perfectly with freshly steamed rice.
4. Monggo with Malunggay and Chicharon (₱160)
A Filipino classic na tipid yet nutritious! Add malunggay for extra health benefits, and top with chicharon for that crunchy, savory finish.
5. Tortang Talong with Giniling (₱190)
Eggplant dipped in egg and fried, then topped or stuffed with giniling. Paborito ng kids ko to — para silang may sariling mini omelet with rice.
✅ Tipid Hack: Buy vegetables in the palengke or wet market — mas mura and mas fresh! Also, cook bigger batches for leftovers that can be re-purposed the next day.
With just ₱200 (or less!), you can whip up meals that are healthy, hearty, and family-approved. It goes to show that being on a budget doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor or fun at the dining table.
