Dinner at Fish & Co. (Because Olive Garden Was Too Far)

You know those days when you’re just craving something specific? Like, you can already taste it in your head? That was us—totally daydreaming about the buttery breadsticks, creamy pastas, and that never-ending soup and salad combo at Olive Garden. But since SM MOA was just a bit out of the way (and let’s be real, Manila traffic doesn’t play nice), we had to rethink our plan.

We needed to do our grocery run at Landmark anyway, so we figured, why not just have dinner somewhere nearby after shopping? That’s how we ended up at Fish & Co., and honestly—it turned out to be a pretty good decision.

We left home around 3PM. First stop? Cinnabon, because grocery shopping is always better with coffee and something sweet. We grabbed coffee and a couple of Minibons (yes, they were warm and gooey and totally worth it) before strolling through the mall and finally getting down to business at the grocery.

By the time we finished shopping and walking around, it was already 6PM and our tummies were starting to growl again. We made our way to Fish & Co., got a table in the middle of the restaurant, and settled in. One small downside though: we couldn’t take a proper family photo since we were seated in the middle table. So we ended up with two separate snaps—one of me and Twinkle, and another of Daddydoodledoo and Ykaie. Still cute, but not quite the same!

Now let’s talk food 🍽️

Twinkle, who was still surprisingly full from her two Minibons (those things are tiny but mighty!), decided to just have Fried Calamari (₱495). It came crispy and golden, coated in spiced flour. She enjoyed picking at it while chatting with us and sipping water. She’s in that “I just want my own plate even if I don’t finish it” phase—if you’re a mom, you know what I mean!

We also got a Caesar Salad (₱325) to share. It was a classic one—crunchy Romaine lettuce, creamy caesar dressing, croutons, parmesan, and a marinated egg on top. Light, fresh, and perfect to balance out all the fried stuff we were about to devour.

As for me, I wasn’t in the mood for anything too heavy, so I tried their All Day ₱385 Menu. I picked the Clam Chowder, a small serving of their “Best Fish and Chips in Town,” and Iced Tea. Everything came in smaller portions but was still pretty filling. The Clam Chowder was creamy and comforting, and the fish—although not a huge piece—had that signature crispy batter that Fish & Co. is known for. For ₱385, it was a great deal and just enough to satisfy me without feeling like I overate.

Meanwhile, Ykaie and Daddy went all in with full-sized meals (no surprise there!).

Daddydoodledoo had the Best Fish and Chips in Town (₱575). It came with a big piece of fish coated in a light, crispy batter and served with fries. Simple and satisfying. He’s always been a “stick to the classics” kind of guy.

Ykaie, our resident cheese lover, went for the New York Fish and Chips (₱595). This one was stuffed with parmesan cheese, which totally made her day. She said it was rich, cheesy, and delicious—and she practically cleaned her plate!

Final Thoughts

Was it Olive Garden? Nope.
Did it satisfy us just the same? Absolutely.

Fish & Co. turned out to be a great call—especially after a long afternoon of walking, shopping, and sweet treats. Sometimes, plans don’t go the way you imagined, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be just as good (or even better in its own way!).

We may not have gotten that bowl of Zuppa Toscana, but we did get a warm meal, happy kids, and a night full of laughs.
