Make baon time exciting! These healthy baon ideas are kid-approved — and yes, pati parents magugustuhan din.

If you’re a mom like me, you know the daily struggle: “Ano na naman ipapabaon ko kay Ykaie (or Twinkle) bukas?” It’s a cycle of wanting something healthy, easy to prepare, and — most importantly — something they’ll actually eat. Kasi kahit gaano ka-healthy, if the kids don’t like it, uuwi pa rin ‘yung baunan na puno.
Over time, I’ve found a few healthy baon ideas that my kids love, and to my surprise, pati ako at si Daddy enjoy din!
Here are some tried-and-tested baon winners:
Chicken Wraps – Grilled chicken breast, lettuce, cucumber, and a little cheese wrapped in tortilla. Masarap kainin at easy to pack.
Fruit & Snack Bento – Apple slices, grapes, banana, plus a small peanut butter dip or yogurt on the side. Bite-sized fun for kids!
Mini Rice Bowls – Small portions of rice with adobo flakes, tapa, or even tinapa. Add some veggies and it feels like a real meal in mini form.

Homemade Muffins or Energy Bars – Great for days na gusto nila ng something sweet but not too heavy. Banana muffins and oatmeal bars are favorites at home.
Pasta Salad Jars – A little pasta, some veggies, and cheese cubes drizzled with light mayo or vinaigrette. Perfect for older kids.
What I love about these ideas is that they’re not just for the kids. Ako mismo, I pack the same baon sometimes, especially if I’m out for errands. It saves money, keeps me from ordering fast food, and makes me feel good knowing we’re eating healthier.
💡 Tip: Get your kids involved. Let them choose fruits or snacks to add to their baon. When they help, they’re more excited to eat it!
