Why I Love Doing S&R / Landers Grocery Runs
One of my favorite mom rituals is our monthly grocery run to S&R or Landers. It’s not just for stocking up — for me, it’s like treasure hunting. Those aisles are full of imported snacks, deli meats, pantry surprises, and that one special item that makes me feel like I actually have time to treat myself.
This month was especially fun because I spotted a few new food finds — items that are trending, limited, or just so good that I stocked up. Here are my top picks (and some personal musings) from both S&R and Landers.
Top New Food Finds at S&R / Landers This Month

1. Dong Won Luncheon Meat
If you’ve been following Korean food trends, you’ll love this new find at Landers. According to a Philstar article, Landers is now carrying more Korean products including Dong Won luncheon meat as part of their Korean flavor wave.
I picked up a can, fried it with a little garlic, and served it with rice + eggs for breakfast — instant Korean-inspired tapsilog! The flavor is savory with a mild sweetness, and it’s such a fun way to mix up our Filipino breakfast staples.
2. Toowomba Chili Paste
Also spotted in the Landers Korean section. Philstar mentions Toowomba chili paste among the Korean imports now available.
This paste is rich and slightly smoky, and when I mixed a teaspoon into my stir-fried vegetables, it turned an otherwise bland side dish into something restaurant-level. Super handy and flavorful.
3. Oppa Apple Soju (Mini Bottles)
Landers is clearly leaning into their Korean festival vibe — and they now have Oppa apple soju on the shelves.
Perfect for celebratory nights or when I just want a tiny “me moment” without breaking the bank. I bought a small bottle, shared a sip with Daddydoodledoo, and felt like we were on a mini staycation.
4. Farm’s Yogurt
Another Landers find from the Korean section: Farm’s yogurt, imported and in sleek packaging.
I like mixing this with fruit and a little granola for a healthy merienda. The texture is creamier than local yogurt, and it’s a quick way to make something nutritious and delicious.
5. Skippy Super Chunk Peanut Butter 48 oz
I spotted Skippy Super Chunk giant jars at S&R (via their New Manila promotions).
This is gold, especially for moms who make peanut butter sandwiches, smoothies, or just want something nutty for merienda. Bulk size = better value = more peanut butter bliss.
6. Magnolia Quickmelt (900 g)
Magnolia Quickmelt in a big 900g container.
This cheesy goodness is so versatile — toast, pasta, grilled sandwiches, or just melted over whatever. I already used part of mine for cheesy garlic toast + leftover spaghetti. Yum!
Why These New Finds Are Worth It
- Trendy + Practical: Items like Dong Won luncheon meat and Toowomba chili paste mix Korean flare with everyday meals — perfect for Pinoy fusion nights.
- Value for Money: Big jars like Skippy or Magnolia Quickmelt are bulk buys that last, and you truly get your membership money’s worth.
- Versatility: Whether you’re doing breakfast, snack, or even cooking for a small brunch, these items give you flexibility.
- Quality and Novelty: Imported goods + trendy flavors = mini treat every grocery trip.
Grocery shopping for me is never just about food. It’s about creating little moments — for the family, for myself, and even for those unexpected “let me try something new” whims.
If you’re heading to S&R or Landers soon, I highly recommend checking these items out. Some might be limited, and others might go fast during their sale events (like the Super Crazy Sale).
Enjoy your treasure hunt, mommies — and may your cart be full, your lines short, and your new finds delicious!
