Today, I’m sharing my budget-friendly version that’s delicious, creamy, and surprisingly affordable — swak na swak sa budget natin, mga mumshiecakes!

Unlike the classic Italian version, our Filipino-style carbonara is sweeter, creamier, and more comforting — parang warm hug sa tiyan. It’s the kind of dish na pwedeng ihain sa kahit anong okasyon, from Christmas Eve to Sunday lunch.

To achieve its rich and creamy taste (without overspending), I used Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream — a staple in my kitchen for pasta dishes and desserts.

Creamy Carbonara sa Swak Sa Budget

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams Linguine or any pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • 100 grams Bacon, chopped
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp Onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 pack Alaska Créma All-Purpose Cream 250mL
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon in pan until brown and lightly toasted. Remove bacon from pan.
  2. Using the same pan and remaining bacon fat, add in butter, garlic and onions. Cook for a minute over low heat.
  3. Add in mushrooms. Cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in Alaska Créma All-Purpose Cream and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and toss in or pour over pasta.
