How to Sneak Veggies Into Your Kids’ Meals (Without Them Noticing)

Mealtime struggles? Not anymore! These fun and sneaky ways to add veggies into your kids’ meals will keep them happy—and you stress-free.

If you’re a mom like me, then you know the daily struggle: how to get the kids to eat their veggies. Some days they’ll eat broccoli with no complaints, and then the next day they’ll act like it’s the worst thing in the world. 🤷‍♀️

Over the years, I’ve learned a few mom hacks that make veggies less of a battle and more of a hidden win. The secret? Sneaking them in without the kids noticing! It’s all about creativity in the kitchen and a little bit of playfulness.

One of my go-to tricks is grating carrots and zucchini into pasta sauces. The veggies melt into the tomato base, and the kids don’t even realize they’re eating something healthy. Another favorite is mixing mashed kalabasa or cauliflower into mac and cheese. It keeps that creamy texture they love, while giving it a nutritious boost.

For breakfast, I sometimes add finely chopped spinach into scrambled eggs or omelets. Twinkle actually thinks they’re “green eggs” like from the Dr. Seuss book, which makes her laugh while eating them. 😄

Another big win is smoothies. I blend fruits like strawberry, banana, and mango with a handful of malunggay or spinach. The sweetness of the fruit completely hides the veggie taste. Like in this Strawberry Spinach Banana Smoothie.

At the end of the day, what works best is making veggies less of a “requirement” and more of a fun discovery. If they see veggies as part of something yummy, they won’t resist as much.

So moms, don’t give up! With a little creativity, we can sneak those veggies in and raise happy, healthy eaters—minus the mealtime drama. 💚
