Because large guavas are simply irresistible…
Because I love fruit…
And because I love bagoong…
This covers my morning snack.
To my non-Filipino friends, Bagoong is shrimp paste. A sweet, salty, garlicky, and pungent condiment made of fermented shrimps that usually serves as a dip to green mango slices, jicama slices, and Kare-Kare, a stew made with a variety of vegetables, stewed oxtail, beef, offal and tripe thickened and flavored by peanut sauce.
It is sooo good! I wish I can share this across the computer screen with you!
perfectly ripe, not too soft and sweet-tart crunchy guavas with bagoong…oh you are so tempting us to have a plate full of this flavor bursting refreshing snack…we can have this any time, all year long….yummy
I so miss fresh guava here…we don’t get good ones..enjoy.
awww, that’s too bad, Asha…
Ayun o! right on spot peachy, sarap niyan
Oo nga eh. meron ba sa Australia nito?
If not mangga with bagoong, definitely Guava slices will do! The contrast sa flavor nakaka miss tuloy kumain nito! Makahanap nga!
Your post reminded me to bring out my spicy bagoong from the refrigerator and head to the nearest supermarket to buy green mangoes, and yes, guava! Yummy! –Tetcha
