There’s something about Garlic Butter Shrimp that feels so indulgent, di ba? That buttery-garlicky aroma filling the kitchen while it’s cooking — amoy palang, ulam na! 😍

But you know me, I love adding a little twist to our favorite dishes para mas exciting at mas busog-lusog ang family. So this time, I made Garlic Butter Shrimp with Corn and Quail Eggs — and let me tell you, winner combo siya!

Why You’ll Love This Dish

It’s the kind of ulam that looks and tastes like something you’d order at a restaurant, pero super dali lang pala gawin sa bahay. The shrimp is juicy and coated in a rich, garlicky butter sauce that’s perfect for drizzling over hot rice (or let’s be real — isang buong kaldero ng kanin! 😂).

Then may sweetness from the corn, and that creamy bite from the quail eggs — it brings balance and a little extra “oomph” that makes everyone at the table say: “Wow, Ma! Sarap nito!”

Garlic Butter Shrimp with Corn

To make this: First, I melted 1/4 cup of butter in a wok and sautéed 1 tbsp of garlic for about 30 seconds — just until mabango. Then I added the shrimp and cooked it for about 1 to 2 minutes, just until it’s halfway done. After that, I removed it from the wok and set it aside.

In the same wok (kasi ayaw natin ng maraming hugasin, diba?), I melted 1/2 cup of butter, added chopped onions, and cooked it for around 30 seconds. Then I added the rest of the garlic and sautéed it until super fragrant — ‘yung tipong mapapa-“Ang sarap siguro nito!” ka agad.

Next, I poured in some oyster sauce, banana ketchup, and a splash of lemon juice — haluin lang hanggang well blended. I added a bit of sugar and let it simmer for about 5 minutes para lumasa nang husto.

Then, I returned the shrimp to the pan and let it simmer until fully cooked and coated in that yummy sauce.

To make it even heartier, I added steamed corn and quail eggs — tapos hinalo ko nang maigi para lahat coated with buttery goodness.

Serve it hot, and enjoy with rice (or kain-kamay kung gusto mo). Sarap!

Serving Tips:

  • Perfect with garlic rice or plain steamed rice (wag mo na i-diet ‘to, momsh 😂)
  • You can also serve it with crusty bread to sop up the buttery sauce.
  • Gusto mo pang pa-bongga? Sprinkle with chopped parsley or grated cheese before serving!

Dishes like this are proof that comfort food doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes, all it takes is a few good ingredients, some creativity, and a hungry family waiting at the table. 💛

Try this Garlic Butter Shrimp with Corn and Quail Eggs one of these days — promise, mapapadami ang rice mo. 😋
