Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino

Tuesday night got me all excited when I found out the new drink that Starbucks is launching on July 16th! It’s chewy, silky White Chocolate Pudding on your Frappuccino specifically Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino® Blended Beverage (Tall –190, Grande- 200, Venti – ₱210) and Green Tea White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino® Blended Beverage (Tall – 180, Grande- 190, Venti – 200).

I was able to try both drinks and eventhough I’m a fan of both matcha and dark mocha, I’m leaning towards the Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino® more. It is such a treat for chocolate lovers like me as it combines the deep flavor of dark chocolate and velvety smooth white chocolate pudding! It will certainly put me on my elements on a bad day.

Not to worry if you have other favorite Frappuccino® flavors because White Chocolate Pudding will also be available as an add-on to your favorite drink.

And as if I couldn’t get you more excited, the new drinks comes with new food items for you to pair it with.

Let me start with my favorite dessert of all time – cheesecake! This OUTRAGEOUS CHEESECAKE (slice-₱130, whole-₱1450) is not only filled with bits of mangoes, blueberries and strawberries, it is also topped with fruit compote combination of those three fruits and white chocolate snowflakes. With the recent celebration of our Independence Day last June, I kind of think that this looks like the Philippine flag.

I like to think that I now have a new favorite in the buttery and flaky BEEF AND MUSHROOM PIE (₱95) because that’s how I exactly like my my pastry crust to be, aside from crispy. This is filled with tender beef strips, sliced mushrooms, carrots and creamy mashed potatoes – a knock-out combination.

Like chocolate chip cookies? Then I’m sure you’re gonna love these two soft, chewy cookies with chunks of Belgian chocolate and white, fluffy roasted marshmallow cream icing sandwiched in between. This CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE SANDWICH (₱80) is good to share with a friend over coffee.

Too bad I wasn’t able to try  the GREEK CHICKEN WRAP (₱170) because it’s bursting with a lot of flavors coming from the tender chicken breast fillet, roasted fresh zucchini, tomatoes, bell pepper, sliced black olives and sour cream drizzle inside that soft, warm pita bread.

Aside from those four new items, there are also new lunch sandwiches that would make your Starbucks® experience more interesting. Let me start with SPINACH, ARTICHOKE, AND MUSHROOM ON HERBED MULTI-GRAIN BREAD (₱160), their new vegetarian sandwich that won’t make you feel like you’re missing out on meat. This tops my list on the new sandwiches!

BACON AND CHEESE ON HERBED CIABATTA BREAD (₱165) there are crispy strips of bacon…… and six types of cheese (Gruyere, Emmenthal, Provolone, Mozzarella, Feta and Cheddar) in this sandwich!.. Oh, and a creamy pesto sauce to hold them together… definitely the ultimate comfort food.

This sandwich had me at dark ciabatta… as I have a thing for bread. The TUNA AND CHEESE ON DARK CIABATTA BREAD (₱175) is the sandwich for you if you enjoy the classic and hearty healthy tuna dill salad.

I thought it was weird that a savory sandwich is made using marble bread that has chocolate in it. I found out later that this is made with a marbled rye bread and not chocolate making this SALAMI AND CHEESE ON MARBLED RYE BREAD (₱165) truly appealing to the eyes. Just because it says Salami and Cheese makes this a simple sandwich.. it is not as this is filled with savory salami, provolone and cheddar cheese – a perfect combination.

Honestly, I’m not really fond of clubhouse sandwiches because I think it has too much bread and it drowns out the taste of the filling.But THE CLUBHOUSE (₱175) at Starbucks®s has thinly sliced country bread that really makes all those filling— which includes roasted tender moist chicken breast, and pickle relish mixed in mayo mustard dressing, juicy sliced tomato, tasty slices of honey ham, bacon and cheese slices – truly stand out.

Last but not the least is the returning favorite which used top top my list {before the new spinach, artichoke and mushroom sandwich} —ROASTED CHICKEN PESTO AND SHIITAKE MUSHROOM ON FLAT BREAD (₱165). I’m sure you’ve already tried it because the combination of roasted chicken breast, aromatic pesto mayo sauce, Shiitake mushroom , and melted Emmenthal and cheddar cheese can be too hard to resist.

I think this is a perfect excuse to go to the mall on the 16th!

From July 16 – August 8, 2013, Starbucks® will give the SNAP OF THE WEEK activity another go to include their newest beverages. Similar to the previous SNAP OF THE WEEK, fans will be asked to upload photos based on a weekly theme via the Facebook application. Chosen photos will be winners of various Starbucks® items and merchandise


Instagram followers will be asked to upload a photo of themselves with the featured beverages anywhere in the Philippines. Chosen photos will be awarded with a Starbucks®s item. This contest is open to Philippine residents only and will run from August 15 – 31, 2013.
