When it comes to tacos, I don’t really mind where you put the fillings. It could be on the usual taco shells, it could be in the form of nachos, or it could be a soft taco using soft and warm tortilla instead of shells. The most important thing is for the ground beef to taste like authentic mexican tacos. What I love using is Old El Paso brand because their Spice Mix for Original Tacos is explosive! If you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest you do the next time you make tacos and I’m sure you’re not gonna be using any other brand anymore. I also love their Thick and Chunky salsa but that’s another story…

Like what I told you yesterday, last Sunday was movie day at home. I decided to make these Walking Tacos as our movie day food because I was craving for tacos. So what’s a “walking taco” ? It’s Taco in a bag. The idea is tacos you can eat while walking around…

I didn’t want to make the usual tacos because we will be watching three movies in the bedroom and eating tacos there would be too messy. I also didn’t want everyone to bring plates around. I wanted  something that is easy to eat and easy to clean up after.

These walking tacos is just the perfect movie food {aside from the cheesecake bars which you could eat with your fingers}! It’s very easy to make and is almost a complete meal in itself because it has meat, vegetables and cheese. I’m not saying it’s the healthiest option but it’s healthier than eating Doritos alone and is such a fun food-on-the-go. Besides, this is the perfect time to sneak in some veggies! You can add corn, beans, olives, cucumber –whatever veggies you think your child would eat.

Our walking tacos had the simplest ingredients: ground beef, chopped onions, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced olives and grated cheddar cheese.

Then we had a selection of the different flavors of Doritos…..I had the nacho cheese doritos and filled mine with a lot of lettuce, onions and tomatoes…. I also brought out some disposable wooden spoons — see? clean-up is super easy. Almost everything is disposable.

And I bet you’re already loving this idea…
