Unilever Food Solutions is known for popular brands such as Lady’s Choice, Knorr, and Lipton. These are also brands that I frequently use in my kitchen so when I was invited to an event that would discuss the Food Trends to Watch Out in 2014, I said yes.
The event was held at the Unilever Food Solutions Kitchen. I was surprised to find out that we’ll be given a chance to play chef-for-a-day a la Iron Chef together with other bloggers and representatives from the media. We were grouped into four and were given aprons, empty containers, and recipes for Seared Salmon and Mashed Potato.
There’s a center table filled with all the ingredients we’d need in order to cook, garnish, and plate the dish.
I am in Group 1 and this is what we came up with! This is Pepper-Crusted Salmon fried in butter and olive oil which we put on top of Knorr Mashed Potato Flakes. We put buttered veggies on the side and then drizzled the salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce. The spots on the side is Miso Barbecue Sauce, just to give our plate a dark contrast.
