Davao Gulf Boodle Feast at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island

Before the month of August comes to an end let me tell you about how we celebrated my FIL’s birthday last August 1st. It was just a simple celebration but one that was filled with love …… — and rice! LOL!

We had dinner at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island. We actually wanted to go somewhere farther but since it was raining quite hard, we decided to have dinner in Fairview Terraces, the mall nearest to where they live.

It wasn’t my first time at Blackbeard’s Seafood island, I’ve dined at their Trinoma branch way back in 2011. There were lots of room for improvement back when I dined but this time they already made up for it.

We ordered the Davao Gulf Boodle Feast that is good for 5-6 persons. It includes Chicken Wings Inasal, Pork BBQ, Grilled Baby Squid, Steamed Shrimps, Grilled Tuna Laman, Ensaladang Mangga, Laing, Ginisang Gulay, Steamed Tahong, Grilled Tomatoes, Kalkag Rice, Bagoong Rice, and Dulong Rice.

Yes, three kinds of rice!!! We had the Dulong rice changed into steamed rice, though.

Let me get you a closer look….

Just like any other boodle feast, it was served on a large square piece of wood covered in banana leaves. All the food were carefully and appetizingly arranged on the banana leaves waiting for you to devour with your hands.

Eating with your hands along with everybody on the table is what makes this more enjoyable!

August 1st was a friday. Blackbeard’s Seafood Island was full of customers. It was great that they were still able to maintain good customer service despite the rush.

  1. I miss this kind of salo2x food. Seafood are scrumptious and that is something I miss sharing with my immediate family in PI.

  2. Glad you had a good second try at this resto. Like you, our first time at this resto wasn’t such a good experience (it was in a different branch though). Hubby actually doesn’t want to go back there anymore. But hopefully, with the improvements you’ve mentioned, I can convince him to give it another try.
