BonChon Wings in Crunchy Garlic

Ever since I discovered BonChon Chicken way back in 2011, I’ve been a huge fan. We even have it delivered at home sometimes when we get a craving and we’re too lazy to go out.  I mean everybody loves fried chicken and for me who’s a chicken wing person (if there’s such a thing) I find it as the perfect place to satisfy my chicken wing cravings.

I mean, yes, I do love good old fried chicken, it’s just that with Bonchon you get a unique chicken experience each and everytime. They offer a variety of options on how you can enjoy your fried chicken. Like what I’ve said in my previous posts about BonChon, I’ve got to hand it to these guys. They can double fry the chicken and smother it with delicious sauce but the chicken retains its juiciness inside and the crispy coating outside.

Aside from that, they make sure you get a burst of unique American-Korean fusion of flavors in each bite. There’s soy + garlic, sweet + spicy, honey + citrus, and their newest flavor which we got to try when we ate there for a late lunch last Saturday — Crunchy Garlic.

I got the Wings Rice Box in Crunchy Garlic, then upgraded my rice to the new Seoul Fried Rice and Iced Tea (₱190). BonChon’s Crunchy Garlic has this salty glaze with a touch of sweetness, the garlic chips sprinkled on top of the chicken gave a second layer of crunch as well as another layer of flavor which left me wanting for more.

The Kimchi Coleslaw (₱45)  is a must whenever you’re at BonChon. Your fried chicken is just not complete without it.

Another thing I love about BonChon is that they are not limited to just chicken. They also have Beef, Shrimp, Squid, and Fish. It was a sweet surprise that Ykaie ordered shrimp for lunch last Saturday.

She had a Crispy Shrimp Rice Box in Honey Citrus (₱155). You can tell how much she liked it by the smile she has on her face in the photo above. I had a bite of it and I liked it as well. It’s like a new age tempura!

To make our meal more exciting, we also had Bulgogi Noodle Soup (₱115), a sweet, salty flavorful noodle soup with includes tofu and beef. It was served really hot complementing our rice box meals!

We absolutely enjoyed our lunch that day. This week, I am craving for something a little bit spicy so I made a mental note of coming back to BonChon to enjoy  some Spicy Wings and Seafood Platter.
