Mocha Oatmeal with Almonds

I had very late breakfast today…

….and very little sleep too.

I didn’t feel like myself.

My coffee, breakfast and dessert came in one cup.

It was very convenient..LOLz.

Oh who am I kidding….I was too lazy to cook this morning anything today.

All I can think about is sleep. I am so having trouble sleeping at night but is sooo sleepy in the morning..

I needed my oatmeal to have this extra crunch to wake me up so I put almonds in it…

…and YES, I’m still eating oatmeal for breakfast…

P.S.

I am craving for Cheezy Pinatubo Jamaican Beef Pattie.

Mocha Oatmeal with Almonds

Ingredients
  • ½ cup steel-cut oats
  • 1½ cup + ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 pcs almonds
  • 1 tsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder {I used Cadbury Bourneville Cocoa Powder}
  • sugar/sweetene
Directions
  1. Combine milk, water, instant coffee, cocoa powder and oats in a small pot.
  2. Bring to a boil with constant stirring to prevent it from sticking in the bottom of the pot and burning.
  3. Simmer for 20-30 minutes, while stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in remaining ½ cup milk and turn heat up to med-high until oatmeal is bubbling again.
  5. Add sweetener.
  6. Sprinkle with crushed or whole almonds before serving

      Regular steel-cut oat yan na nilagyan ng coffee, milk at cocoa powder kaya naging ganyan. try mo, John Ray, masarap..

    I have a lot of almonds here, but so far I haven’t used the in my oatmeal. You make oatmeal look so good!

    Oatmeal with cocoa powder? Wow, that is a good alternative to champorrado Peachy!  But you put almond instead of tuyo. LOL! Looks good!  Thanks for sharing.

Good thing this All Around Development Kit from @Lactum3 arrived over the week, kaya naman ito ang aming bonding activity this weekend!

Ang saya ni Twinkle because it has all the fun exercises and activities she really enjoys doing. We planted Arugula, Mustard, and Alfalfa seeds, painted the post, solved a puzzle, and played Twister.
