Throwback Recipe: Cheeseburger Soup

The CHEESEBURGER SOUP to comfort your soul — rich, creamy, flavorful and has the taste of your favorite homemade cheeseburger..

Ever since I first made this Cheeseburger Soup, it has been one of the most requested soup here at home whenever the weather gets chilly. And why not? First and foremost, they all love cheeseburger — nothing says comfort-food-fast-food other than cheeseburger but it doesn’t give you that warm hug you’re craving for when the weather’s cold. Only soup can give you that soul hugging, tummy warming, tastebud satisfying, fuzzy feeling. Right?

Hence, CheezzzBurger Souup.

So how do we make Cheeseburger Soup? We couldn’t have cheeseburger without the burger, right? So first up is seasoning the beef with salt, forming them into eeny meeny little burgers and frying them in  butter + oil mixture. After cooking the burgers, we’ll sautè the onions in the same pan so we’ll get all the flavors from the fried beef balls.

It’s followed with potatoes, carrots, parsley, celery, chicken stock, beef balls, and all the spices. bring this to a boil and simmer until potatoes are tender. Then we’ll add the cheez whiz and milk and season with salt and pepper to taste. To thicken, we can add the cornstarch slurry. The final touch after turning off heat is the stirring in the sour cream.

Now we can serve piping hot paired with garlic roll on the side and a pickle as a garnish! Super Simple, super flavorful and a whole lotta comfort.

Happy Monday to you and here’s a bowl on Cheeseburger Soup to wish you an amazing week ahead!
